Speaker Bios
Manisha Parikh, MD is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist who has been practicing in the HEB area since 2006. She grew up in Augusta, Georgia and went to college at Georgia Tech where she studied Chemical Engineering and was a Presidential Scholar. She attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and did her residency in Texas at the Baylor College of Medicine, where she was Chief Resident. Dr. Parikh met her husband, an anesthesiologist, while in training and they decided to make Texas their home. They live in Colleyville with their two sons. In her free time, she loves to cook, travel, and spend countless hours volunteering for her boys' school PTA. Additionally, she is a member of the USMD Board of Directors, the Kupferle Health Board, and is faculty for the TCU School of Medicine.
Dr. Shah is a board-certified physician in Gastroenterology/Hepatology. She is passionate about providing high quality, patient-centered medical care. Her clinical interests include diagnosis and treatment of acid reflux and peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), irritable bowel syndrome, anorectal disorders, chronic liver disease, hepatitis, GI bleeding and GI cancers. She is especially interested in women’s health as it relates to the GI tract and colorectal cancer prevention and early detection. She performs upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, video capsule endoscopy and gastrostomy tube placement.Dr. Shah was born and raised in Lexington, KY. She graduated with a BS in Economics and BS in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University and pursued her medical education at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 10 YO son and 9 YO daughter. She is passionate about community service and enjoys cooking, traveling off the beaten path, music and the outdoors.
Dr. Thamwiwat was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. She received her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas. Then, she spent 7 years in Houston, Texas, completing her Internal Medicine residency, Cardiology fellowship, and Interventional Cardiology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. After training, Dr. Thamwiwat returned home to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where she specializes in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
