Description
Boitumelo means HAPPINESS in the South African language of Tswana…and it is also one of North Texas’s undisputed TOP OF THE LINE multi-cultural music experiences. Focusing on the folk music of South Africa that was launched by the late internationally recognized singer/activist Miriam Makeba in the mid 1960’s. Boitumelo is a group of musicians that teach and share as they perform, a solid band with plenty of experience working with all ages. Boitumelo's unique relaxed style appeals to any audience.
Free for all ages, the Masterworks Concert Series is an ongoing concert series funded by a grant from the City of Hurst Hotel/Motel Tax Fund in cooperation with Arts Council Northeast.
Performances include mostly local music, dance, and theatre acts - ranging in style from Country & Western to Ballet to marionettes! The Masterworks Concert Series gives the whole family a great way to spend an evening together!

Concert Venues:
Most of the events listed will take place in the Library's Large Program Room, but when the weather is nice and the performers are open to it, we like to take advantage of the Library Park Gazebo, or the Souder Pavilion at Heritage Village Plaza.
